KEY JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Description:
General Responsibilities
1.Responsible for assurance of supply for assigned commodity to meet business needs
2.Negotiate price agreements / cost reductions with suppliers
3.Negotiate lead-time reduction through vendor managed inventory, material banks etc.
4.Supplier rationalization
5.Definition of sourcing strategies – primary and secondary sources
6.Risk mitigation of sole sourced situations.
7.Owner of supplier scorecards and business reviews, on-going strategic supplier selection and management including providing monthly forecast visibility to suppliers.
8.Make/buy analysis, source selection, participation in supplier audits
9.Tracking of market analysis and trends (from a supply and pricing standpoint). Owner of commodity cost model to understand ‘reasonable price’ from Suppliers
10.Inventory reduction, excess material avoidance, and disposition negotiations
11.Drive Roadmap alignment between supplier and Finisar Engineering.
12.Emphasis on purchase agreement composition, contracts etc.
NPI Related Responsibilities
1.Support sourcing activities related to NPI efforts to insure successful on-time product launches.
2.Bring suppliers into the Finisar development process during the early design stages to minimize cost, ensure product specification alignment, and maximize product performance.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS (include Education, Skills & Experience):
Required Skills:
1.Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or Business preferred.
2.Minimum 5 to 10 years related experience
3.Proven ability to meet Supply Chain goals, reduce costs, and function in a matrix organization with proven effectiveness as a team leader
4.Proven negotiation skills and experience.
5.Ability to function effectively in a fast paced environment.
6.Able to communicate effectively.
